This candy bar isn’t for girls.
But I’m bad, so I ate it anyway.
I’ve never read much science fiction in my life, until I graduated college and suddenly had time to read voluminous tomes consisting of virtually everything. (Come to think of it, science fiction usually isn’t marketed to girls either. Hmmm.) A few items I stumbled across and liked during this period of ample free time belonged loosely in the science fiction genre, and it gave me cause to wonder: what in the market should I read next? The only recommendations I’ve ever received were from off-putting strangers on the bus whom I could not discourage from talking to me.
So I leave it to you, dear readers. What are your favorite reads, especially ones that a person can appreciate despite not having forayed very far into the genre before?
